ON THE JOB FOR VICTORY, Original WW1 Poster by Jonas Lie

ON THE JOB FOR VICTORY, Artist: Jonas Lie (1880-1940) Original and very large poster measuring 38″ x 56″ issued by the United States shipping board and published by F. Powers Company in New York. This poster was also issued in the more common and smaller 30″ x 40″ version and depicts the shipyard in full operation for the emergency construction of ships for the war effort. Jonas Lie was a celebrated American painter who was famous for his maritime paintings and colorful impressionistic style. This poster is rare to find in this size and did receive restoration to the upper left and lower right margins with added vintage paper. There was no loss to the image itself though numerous small tears were present. Linen Backed. SOLD
