These rare recruitment posters from WW1 were linen backed and framed using a broken silver color for the frames. In this case our customer wanted to use glass instead of acrylic to be consistent with other posters in his collection. The debate of using glass instead of acrylic lingers on but the main issue is that whichever material is used it should be UV protected so as the colors will not fade with time.

Linen backing is first and foremost a preservation and stabilization technique. It preserves the integrity of old and valuable paper and assures the poster can be safely handled and displayed.
