EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, 1980. Original rolled 1 Sheet (27 x 41” / 69 x 104 cm) Movie Poster printed for the 1982 Re-Release of the movie to theaters. Starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher director Irvin Kershner and written and produced by George Lucas. Tom Jung reworked a couple of things for the 1982 theatrical re-release, including the positioning of the logo and the prominence of Han Solo. This specific adjustment was made because Harrison Ford’s stardom had skyrocketed following the massive success of Lucasfilm’s Raiders of the Lost Ark in the summer of 1981. The studio resized his character to leverage his growing popularity.
