“BEAT BACK THE HUN WITH LIBERTY BONDS”, Original WWI Friedrich Strothmann War Poster

Beat Back the Hun with Liberty Bonds, 1918 is a WW1 Propaganda poster designed by Frederick Strothmann (1894-1980) “Beat back the Hun” was issued around 1918 as part of the Liberty Bond fund drive. The poster measures 20″ x 30″ and has been linen backed. Some minor tape damage to the middle lower margin. Powerful and popular image from the first world war depicting a menacing soldier with blood stained bayonet and hands looking over the sea at the USA.

This poster was rolled and is now linen backed. The poster was in good C7 prior to linen backing and has received a minor amount of restoration in terms of color and quality. The image is clean though there is some light to moderate wear along the margins, and some minor tearing in both top corners.
