FEED A FIGHTER, Original World War 1 Poster

Feed a Fighter LBFEED A FIGHTER, 1918. Original World War 1 poster (20″ x 30″ / 51 x 76cms) designed by Wallace Morgan (1875–1948) for the United States Food Administration. “Eat only what you need  – Waste Nothing – that he and his family may have enough”. Ever wonder why your grandparents insisted on finishing all the food on your plate? Posters like this reinforced the need to save food…waste not want not… Reminiscent of posters and sketches designed by the French artist Steinlen this simple design conveys the hardship of war on the front lines.

A small tear in the upper left corner and another in the mid section of the margin were the only defects to this otherwise very clean poster.
