MESSETT’S MUSICAL ENTERTAINERS, c.1900. An Original pair of Minstrel Posters (14 x 42” / 46 x 138 cm) with one depicting a man successfully collecting gambling bets for a horse race meet on a bright sunny day while the other stands in the rain under a holy umbrella by a sodden chicken waiting for his first bet. Although tasteless by contemporary moral standards this pair of posters will likely appeal to collectors of Black Americana.
Both posters are very fine condition and have been nicely linen backed by another studio some time ago. Printed by Quigley Litho Co. Kansas.
Condition C9. Sold $1250
