PLANET OF THE APES, 1968. Original Insert (14 x 36”), (46 x 118 cm) originally folded and now linen backed movie poster starring Charlton Heston, Roddy McDowall, Kim Hunter, Director Franklin J. Schaffner, and writers Michael Wilson and Rod Serling. “Man… hunter… caged.. forced to mate by civilized apes!” ” A world gone mad!” Also known as Monkey Planet, Heston plays a Astronaut traveling through space to land on a distant planet to only find a role reversal! The apes talk and men are simply animals.
This poster was in good original C7 folded condition prior to linen backing. Pinholes are present in each corner and on the left hand side of the center fold line. The bottom right corner has been torn off, and a tear at the right side of the center fold line has been repaired. There is some discoloration along the top edge of the poster, along with a section of paper that was damaged from tape removal, but the colors throughout the poster are still quite vivid.
