SWANEE RIVER, 1939. Original 1 sheet (27 x 41” / 68 x 104 cm) folded Movie Poster starring Don Ameche, Andrea Leeds and Al Jolson. Directed by Sidney Lanfield the movie tells the story of Stephen C. Foster the “great American Troubadour” who travels to the south in the nineteenth century and decides to settle there amid the civil war. Immortalized by the musical score and especially Swanee River, as sung by Al Jolson.
The poster has been linen backed and restored and was in fair C6 condition with a moderate amount of soiling to the lower portion of the poster as well as wear along the foldlines.
