This poster designed by Joseph Pennell (1857-1926) depicts a broken statue of liberty amid New York in flames behind. One of a series of posters designed for the 4th Liberty Bond drive launched in the summer of 1917 with words taken from the text of the Gettysburg address delivered in 1863 by President Abraham Lincoln,
This poster was originally rolled prior to linen backing. Minor border tears were repaired during linen backing. In fine condition and ready to frame.
