THE OUTLAW, 1943. Original vintage 1 Sheet (27 x 41” / 56 x 71 cm) 1950 re-release movie theater poster for sale and starring; Jack Buetel, Thomas Mitchell, Jane Russell, directors Howard Hughes, Howard Hawks and screenplay by Jules Furthman. This Movie theater feature film is probably best remembered for the remarkably beautiful and seductive Jane Russell. She was fiery on the screen and wore a dress that didn’t leave much to the imagination; imagine what it must have been like to see this film back in the 40s! The provocative artwork is a major draw by collectors and art aficionados.
The original film actually was released in 1946 and the films explicit use of sexuality had it pulled from theaters prematurely. Its first re-release came in 1950 and they chose this poster for its showing.
This particular original Jane Russell poster for the Outlaw is in very good to fine condition but, it does show some minor imperfections to note. There is some wear along the fold lines particularly focused on the cross folds. There are some pin holes on the corners and some yellow paint paint that can be removed on the left vertical margin.
Condition C7-8. For Sale $750
