TOWERING INFERNO, 1974. Original Insert (14 x 36”) folded Movie Poster starring Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, William Holden, and Faye Dunaway; Directed by John Guillermin; based on original novel by Richard Martin Stern and Thomas N. Scortia. In this film, an archtect named Doug Roberts has returned from a long vacation to find his skyscraper, the world’s tallest building, has neared completion. During a party that night, the building’s electrical shows signs of short circuiting and Roberts concludes his wiring specifications were not followed correctly. An electrical fire starts on the upper floors and a series of daring rescues begin as the firefighters cannot successfully fight the fire from a building that high. “One tiny spark becomes a night of blazing suspense.” One of the first of the disaster movies that set the standard with a host of famous actors.
