Also known as “Storm Over Washington”, this film, about political machinations behind the Senate’s process around electing a secretary of state is eerie given the current 2016 presidential election crisis. A flawed system people called it, what once was driven by fears of communism, is now driven at the highest level in the USA more by extreme corporate investments. Either way, a political hot topic in the 60s and now, this film’s look into political corruption is ever relevant. Saul Bass is highly collected by art aficionados and is one of the few poster artist that truly bridges the gap between fine art and movie poster art. He is known for his minimalist, modern style artwork featured in many Hitchcock and Stanley Kubrick posters.
This particular 1 sheet movie theater poster of Saul Bass’s artwork is in very good to fine condition, but does show some minor imperfections to note. There is a tear in the top right corner and a chip in the red in the bottom right. both of these issues would literally vanish following linen backing.
