AMERICANS ALL, 1918. Original WW1 Victory Liberty Loan poster designed by Howard Chandler Christy and measures 27″ x 40″. Certainly one of the most celebrated American artists during the early part the twentieth century, he gave birth to the so-called “Christy Girl” whom he featured on much of his poster art of this period. Much like the “Gibson Girl” was the personification of the late Victorian period so the “Christy Girl” became synonymous with the Edwardian period and of patriotism in America. In this poster Columbia poses in front of the American flag and an honor roll of names from every corner of the world – but all American. This poster has been linen backed and has received some minor retouching to the upper margin. Sold For $475 Linen backed
