The story based on Martin Goldsmith 1939 novel about a down and out musician who hitches a ride to California to track down his ex. Along the way the driver of his ride accidentally dies and he assumes his identity only to be discovered by an attractive girl (Ann Savage) who also caught a ride with the deceased driver. “He went searching for love…but fate forced a detour to revelry…violence…mystery!
