Originally a Premier Pictures production at Universal City upon its official announcement, this Pre-Code Louis King feature was ultimately released by Tower Productions which was owned by Harry Aitken, a pioneer of silent film distribution, and an executive at the Keystone, Triangle, and Mutual film companies. Drifting Souls is the third film to be released under the Tower name and was adapted from a story by Barbara Hunter. It stars Louis Wilson and Raymond Hatton and takes audiences on a whirlwind journey of crime and innocence including racketeering, a wild police chase, murder, and romance. Lead actress Lois Wilson was discovered after winning a Universal Studios beauty contest and later became known for her roles in pictures directed by the legendary Lois Weber. Wilson is most notable for her portrayal of Daisy Buchanan in the silent film version of The Great Gatsby and acting opposite such stars such as Rudolph Valentine and John Gilbert.
Prior to linen backing the poster came in two panels and showed very minimal wear including edge and fold wear, a few soft creases, and subtle fold separations. A super rare and beautifully conserved piece for its age!
