TWA ORIENT, 1960. Original Vintage TWA Airline Travel Poster (25 x 40” / 82 x 131 cm) designed and illustrated by David Klein. This poster is from the many that Klein designed during the 1950’s and 1960’s for Howard Hughes Trans World Airlines (TWA). This illustration features bold and dark image of an aged bronze statue of a Buddha-like goddess, dancing in front of a veil-draped window. The veils are a beautiful mix of reds, oranges and yellows with subtle transparency. Behind the veils, you can see traditional buildings and mountains that travelers would expect to see during their visit to the Orient.
This poster is originally rolled and in good C9 condition, but has some wrinkling near top of poster and some minor horizontal creasing on bottom portion of poster due to being slightly flattened when rolled, and minor wear along poster edges. Please click on image to zoom in and review for yourself. Overall, this poster a great example of the beautiful travel posters from the 60’s and would look amazing once Linen Backed. This process is available upon request for an additional $80 and would render the above conditional issues nearly invisible.
Condition C9. SOLD for $250
