HARLEM ON THE PRARIE, 1937. Original One Sheet (27 x 41”), (89 x 125 cm) originally rolled and now linen backed movie poster starring Mantan Moreland, Herbert Jefferies and Connie Harris. This film, regarded as a “Race Movie” was billed as the first “all-colored” Western Musical. Race Movies were a genre of film produced in the United States between about 1915 and the early 1950s, catered towards Black audiences with the use of an all-black cast. During this time about five hundred race films were produced, and of those less than one hundred remain as film historians overlooked them.
This poster is in great linen backed condition with a couple markings along the margin but otherwise looks excellent!
