HAVE YOU A RED CROSS SERVICE FLAG? 1918. Original vintage World War 1 Poster red cross (21″ x 28″) designed by Jessie Wilcox Smith (1863-1935) this being her only and popular poster for the war effort. Building on a Christmas theme the poster shows a young boy sitting on a window sill placing a red cross flag on the window during Christmas.

Linen backing is first and foremost a preservation and stabilization technique. It preserves the integrity of old and valuable paper and assures the poster can be safely handled and displayed.
