IN OLD OKLAHOMA, 1943. Original Argentinian (29 x 44”), (95 x 143 cm) originally folded and now linen backed movie poster designed and printed for the 1944 release of the movie to Argentinian audiences. Starring John Wayne, Martha Scott, and Albert Dekker. Directed by Albert S. Rogell, and produced by Robert North for Republic Pictures. In Old Oklahoma is a film adaptation of a short story by Thomson Burtis from the successful pulp magazine, Adventure. John Wayne stars as Dan Somers, a cowboy who fights against a greedy oil baron underhanded attempts to buy up oil-rich land from locals and natives, and for the heart of a beautiful local school teacher. The film was nominated for two Academy Awards in 1944. One for Best Sound recording, and the other for Best Music Score of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture. In 1947, the film was re-released under the title War of the Wildcats.

This Argentinian poster is in very good condition. There are pinholes around each edge of the poster, including the corners, but they have been flattened through our linen backing process. Some light color retouching has been done along the fold lines, making this a beautifuly vibrant poster, perfect for any fan of John Wayne, or westerns.
