ROAD RACERS, 1959. Original Hot Rod vintage motor racing 1 sheet (27 x 41” / 68 x 104 cm) movie theater poster for sale starring; Joel Lawrence, Marian Collier, Skip Ward writer Stanley Kallis (original story and screenplay) and director Arthur Swerdloff. This really stylistic hot rod movie poster, filmed at the American Grand Prix at the Laguna Seca race track in Monterey, California is not so well a known film. It does however feature an epic hot rod car racing scene at the end of the movie that features some classic Porsches, Alfa Romeos and late 50s Corvettes! These kind of drive-in movie posters are very classic and are featured in car collector’s show rooms, man caves and game rooms. Jay Leno uses this style of poster to decorate his automobile show room walls and is absolutely spectacular!
This particular original 1 sheet car racing movie theater poster featured at 50s drive-ins is currently in fine condition, but does show a few minor imperfections. There is some iron oxide staining that can be seen on the top vertical fold line which is created a small hole. There are pin holes in each corner with the top corners being a bit more warn than the bottom corners. There are two surficial stains on the upper right corner quadrant. There is a border chip on the left vertical margin. There are very light scattered blemishes, but the fold lines are remarkably pristine. This is truly a fine example that would look near mint linen backed.
