SILENT RUNNING, 1972. Original 1 Sheet (27 x 41” / 69 x 104 cm) folded Movie Poster starring Bruce Dern, Cliff Potts, Ron Rifkin, and Jesse Vint; Directed by Douglas Trumbull. This movie explores a future time where all flora is extinct on Earth and is now kept in a greenhouse located aboard a spacecraft in orbit. When the greenhouses are ordered to be destroyed, the main astronaut/caretaker of the greenhouse ignores the order to save the beloved forest and its creatures as they are “preserving the ecology of the universe”. He kills his three colleagues, steals the ship and takes off into deep space with his three small robots as companions. “Amazing companions on an incredible adventure…that journeys beyond imagination!”
This folded poster is in very good C8 condition with only very minor color loss along the fold lines and small pin holes in the corners. Overall this poster is in great shape and has spectacular sci-fi artwork illustrated by George Akimoto (1922-2009).
