SONG OF THE SOUTH, Original Walt Disney Vintage Movie Poster

Song of the South, 1946. Original 1 Sheet (27 x 41” / 69 x 104 cm) folded Movie Poster starring Ruth Warrick, Bobby Driscoll and James Baskett as Uncle Remus.  Based on the children’s story by Joel Chandler, Uncle Remus relates the tricks of Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox and other fictional animals to a young oy who is captivated by them. Featuring the catchy song and Oscar winning Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah. this Disney favorite was somewhat controversial at the time of it’s re-release but has become ever more controversial as social values evolved. This poster was used for the re-release of the movie to audiences in 1972 “We’re headin’ for the laughin’ place!”.
