STAR WARS, 1977. Original Japanese B2 (20 1/4″ x 28 5/8″) rolled movie poster starring; Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Alec Guinness, Peter Cushing, and directed by George Lucas. This version is the 1978 Japanese advance “starfield” poster known for its minimalistic style reading in Japanese “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…” With it being a teaser poster, it was printed in very limited quantities compared to regular theatrical styles. It was intended solely to build anticipation ahead of the film’s delayed Japanese release in June 1978.
