THEIR SECURITY DEMANDS YOU VOTE REPEAL, Womens prohibition reform Original Anti-prohibition Advertising Vintage poster

Their Security Demands LBTHEIR SECURITY DEMANDS YOU VOTE REPEAL, May 1932.  This poster measuring 20 x 30″, was used as a demand for the government to repeal the 18th amendment about the prohibition of alcohol, ratified on 1919. This poster represents a significant turning point in the prohibition reform movement as women stood up to protect their children from illegal trafficking of alcohol to speakeasys and dangerous buyers.  “This poster along with “The snoopers” represent the two most important hallmarks of the anti-prohibition movement” <Reference>. The reason children were used for the adult’s dirty work, was because adults could go to jail for a long time as new legislation passed (Volstead Act) and the laws stiffened. They used children because they could not go to jail and so posed less of a “business” risk. This heartbreaking fact led the mothers of America to stand up and beg for a repeal to protect their endangered children.

This historical poster is extremely rare and historically very significant to our great countries history. There are numerous books and articles throughout the internet featuring this poster in black and white, used to discuss the ending of the prohibition in America. It was rolled and is in virtually pristine condition except for a long tear on the upper half of the poster. This tear is clean and now remains nicely disguised following the linen backing process .
