Weapons for Liberty, 1918. Original US WW1 Poster (20 x 30” / 51 x 76 cm) originally rolled and now linen backed. Designed by the German born Joseph C. Leyendecker (1874-1951) for the Boy Scouts of America Third Liberty Loan campaign, this poster is one of the most popular of his WW1 designs and is hard to find, especially in this condition. This is one of only three posters commissioned by the Boy Scouts of America and features a boy kneeling with a sword by the foot of Lady Liberty who proudly hold a gold shield.
Originally rolled this poster was in very fine condition prior to linen backing with virtually no imperfections.
Condition C9. Sold Linen Backed for $575
