BUY WAR BONDS, 1943. Original WW2 Savings Bond Poster (30 x 40” / 68 x 104 cm) originally rolled and now linen backed. This impressive poster is one of the most outstanding images used during the Second World War and was designed by N. C. Wyeth (1882-1945) shortly before his death at the end of the war. The poster depicts Uncle Sam emanating from billowing clouds of smoke and leading his troops and planes onward to battle. This is the definition of patriotism in its highest art form.
This poster was in excellent condition prior to linen backing. Light retouching to fold line wear has been applied to the vertical fold line
