CLEOPATRA, 1964. Original 1 Sheet (27 x 41” / 89 x 104 cm) Linen Backed Movie Poster starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in this historical epic directed by Joseph Mankiewikz. A brilliant classic full of regalia, costumes and wonderful acting that led to 4 Oscars and a host of other nominations. Rome and Egypt never looked this good and neither did Elizabeth Taylor portraying the legendary queen of Egypt. This poster is the rare roadshow poster as indicated by the TODD-AO wording and was intended for use in select theaters before general release. A patch originally covering this wording indicates that this specific poster was used in general release. This patch was removed during linen backing.
This poster was in good C7 condition prior to linen backing having been incorrectly folded with considerable color loss along the fold lines. We have retouched these fold lines and the poster now displays beautifully.
