INVITATION TO THE DANCE, 1956. Original 1 Sheet (27 x 41” / 89 x 135 cm) folded Movie Poster starring Gene Kelly, Tamara Toumanova, and Igor Youskevitch. Directed and choreographed by Gene Kelly, and produced by Arthur Freed. Invitation to the Dance is an unusual film in that it tells three separate stories with no spoken words at all. Each story is told entirely in dance and mime. Gene Kelly stars in all three stories, and each story features prominent ballet dancers of the time. At the time, the film was a box office flop, but it is now regarded as a landmark in the all-dance film genre.
This poster is in very good condition, and the only discernible issues are some slight wrinkling throughout the poster, the vertical fold line shows some slight wear and color loss, and there is a very small point of paper separation where the top-horizontal fold line meets the vertical fold line.
