Chang and Fak Hong Night in TokioCHANG AND FAK HONG’S UNITED MUSICIANS, A NIGHT IN TOKIO, Circa 1930. This original linen backed spanish magic poster measures (43 x 28 “) / (108 x 70 cm) and is a beautiful stone lithograph printed by Hija de E. Mirabet, Valencia.

Their original magic show included a number of magic acts including; cutting women in half, levitating people off tables, shooting women with bullets and more! This particular poster was for their Oriental review entitled “A Night in Tokio”. Fak-Hong was renowned throughout Europe during the 1920s and 30s and he along with Chang traveled to the United States as well as all around Europe. Chang was an illusionist from Panama, both impresario and magician. He interestingly often played the role of an Asian even though he was born in Juan Jose Pablo Jesorum in Panama. This poster printed in Spain features ghosts, goblins, skeletons, unicorns and snakes to project a dark, evil and mysterious feeling.

This original Spanish magic poster itself is in fine condition, but does show some minor wear scattered throughout, normal for a poster over 80 years old. There are no major or minor defects to point out, just a normal and even patina.
