Silent film star Lois Wilson plays Linda Lawrence, a young lawyer who becomes desperate when her father requires an expensive life-saving operation. She takes out an ad in a neighboring town, offering herself for marriage in exchange for the $5,000 they need to pay for the procedure. A wealthy playboy offers to seal the deal, but instead of the happily ever after she hoped for, she gets wrapped up in a whirlwind hit and run case.
