1949, EROICA, Original Austrian movie poster (33 x 47.8” / 84m x 121 cm) starring Ewald Balser as Beethoven and directed by Walter Kolm-Veltée. This movie released in the USA in 1951 but originally made in Austria in 1949 is a celebration of Beethoven’s life and in particular of his 3rd Symphony “Eroica”. This rare and highly dramatic poster depicting a larger than life image of Beethoven designed by Druck Fadametz, conveys all the power and anguish that so characterised his life. A great find, this poster is in C7 condition and has been mounted on linen. Retouching to the fold lines, no pinholes or missing paper.
