This Silent Era film features Toni, an opera singer, who moves to Budapest for a singing job but ends up in a cabaret, where rejecting a rich patron’s advances gets her and the wardrobe mistress, who turns out to be a secret Baroness, fired. The Baroness adopts Toni as her “daughter,” and Toni gets engaged to a man named Richard. However, Richard’s uncle, who had previously harassed Toni, appears at the wedding and causes drama. Despite the chaos, Richard remains loyal to Toni, and they marry, living happily ever after.
