HIS HOME OVER THERE, 1918. Original US WW1 YMCA/YWCA Poster (27 x 42” / 89 x 107 cm) folded; Designed by Albert Herter (1871-1950) for the United War Work Campaign. These organizations provided soldiers overseas with access to movies, theaters, libraries and museums, along with gymnasiums, swimming pools, athletic fields, and clubs. This poster features a warmly lit Y.M.C.A. building in a dark and snowy winter night with two figures holding open the doors for the six soldiers walking up the path towards the facility. “More than 2000 Such Homes for Our Boys” “United War Work Campaign, November 11th-18th”
This poster is originally folded in fine C8 condition with only slight color loss along some fold lines and minor wrinkling along top and bottom margin edges.
