This Science Fiction poster needs little introduction; it is featured in famous auction houses, poster collector books and owned by serious collectors of the Science Fiction genre. The image is striking; featuring the terrifying image of Robby the robot built by MGM for the blockbuster “Forbidden Planet” released in 1956. A combination of the robot and the military firing squad with a tag line of “The science-monster who would destroy the world!” leaves this poster with all the most important elements of A grade 50s sci-fi classic! The film was also less widely known as “S.O.S. Spaceship”. However you have come across this film or poster, there takes little convincing as to why this is truly one of the great sci-fi classic posters.
The most shocking thing about this original movie theater poster that is for sale is not simply the great artwork, but the fact this poster is virtually flawless and in near mint condition! There is only the slightest wear along the bottom margin, but everywhere else, this poster does not show any defects.
