LOVE IN THE AFTERNOON, 1957. Original vintage 1 Sheet (27″41″) movie theater poster for sale and starring, Gary Cooper, Audrey Hepburn, Maurice Chevalier, director Billy Wilder and writers Billy Wilder (screenplay) and I.A.L. Diamond. Wilder pulled his idea from a 1920 novel called Ariane, jeune fille russe (aka Young Russian Girl), which was written by Swiss/French tennis player and writer Jean Shopfer, under the pseudonym Claude Anet. What is really special about this poster is the artist who designed it, Saul Bass; whom is highly collected by art aficionados. He is known for his minimalist, modern style artwork featured in many Hitchcock and Stanley Kubrick posters.
This particular 1 sheet movie poster featuring stunner Audrey Hepburn is in fine condition and doesn’t have any major imperfections, but a few minor ones to note. There is minor edge wear and fold line wear which is extremely clear in the photos. Otherwise, this poster is in wonderful condition and would look fantastic linen backed!
