SPAIN, MADRID, Boat and Fisherman, 1955. Original Vintage Spanish Travel Linen Backed Poster (24 x 39” / 79 x 128 cm) designed and illustrated by well-known artist Guy Georget (1911-1991). He was hired by the tourist boards during the Golden Age of Travel to illustrate bright and attractive posters to tempt people to visit Spain. His first commercial posters appeared in the late 1940s and has a very unique and attractive style of illustration. Published by the Spanish State Tourist Department for Madrid, Spain.
This poster was originally rolled and has been Linen Backed to restore all of the quality issues we originally had listed below. Please click on image to zoom-in and analyze for yourself. There were chips of missing paper in three of the four corners that have been replaced with vintage paper. There were three tape stains on the left middle, right middle and top middle sections of the margin that were retouched.
