Authentication Tips:
There are no known reproductions, but three reprints: 2 for the 15th anniversary and one in 2007. There are however two original Style D 1 sheet Movie posters with the same artwork. There is the version with the NSS (National Screen Service) information on the bottom margin and there is the 20th century fox studio version released without. The below figure documents the two different versions. The poster for sale in this listing is an original NSS release and is considered by collectors the more valuable version. The artwork for this poster is an iconic display of mixed medium employing oil paints and airbrush. It is in fact famous for the fact it it George Lucas’s favorite Star Wars movie poster and one of Struzan’s most famous pieces of artwork!
This particular original Star Wars Episode IV original NSS Style D 1 sheet Movie Theater Poster that is for sale is in good to very good condition. It does however show some minor defects; there are 3 to 5 pin holes in each corner, the top margin has a 1″ tear with no missing paper there is general rippling throughout the poster and very light wear along the fold lines. The poster will look spectacular following linen backing which is scheduled for 4th quarter of 2014.
