THE THING, 1982. Original 1 Sheet (27 x 41” / 69 x 104 cm) folded Movie Poster starring Kurt Russell, Wilford Brimley, and Keith David. Directed by John Carpenter and based on the 1938 novella “Who Goes There?” by John W. Campbell Jr. This is arguably one of Kurt Russell’s best from the early 80s, next to, of course, “Escape from New York”. This poster is steadily rising in value due to the great artwork by Drew Struzan, and the fact this was a truly memorable Horror film that was nominated for several awards. Story goes, that Struzan was told he had to have the artwork finished 24 hours after he got the phone job. He worked all through the night, and sent the still wet canvas to the production studio for printing the next day. Truly, a wonderful piece of artwork by a living legend in the poster art world.
This folded insert poster is in very good original C8 condition, but does have some slight color loss along some of the fold lines. Otherwise, the poster is in great shape, with no discernible damage. Linen Backing is available for an additional $80 upon request or by adding the service to your cart below. This would produce a flat, backed poster that’s ready to display! Retouching the color along the fold lines is optional but included in the service.
