TIME MACHINE, 1961. Original 1 Sheet (27 x 41” / 69 x 104 cm) linen backed Movie Poster starring Rod Taylor, Alan Young and Yvette Mimieux. In this sci-fi adventure directed by George Pal a man played by Rod Taylor, has a Utopian society envisioned for the future, but is disillusioned once he travels forward in time to find a dark and dangerous society. He throws a dinner party and tells his friends of his travels in his time machine, but they were so unbelieving and skeptical of any practical use if this machine did indeed work. He tells his friends of a civilization several thousand years into the future that consists of subterranean creatures called morlocks – not the Utopian society he had wished had developed. Based on the original novel by H.G. Wells. snfd one of the most sought after Science Fiction posters of all time.
This poster was originally folded and has now been linen backed. Before we completed the linen backing process, the poster was in fair condition with several chips of paper loss along the top and bottom margins, and together with a few tape stains on the margin and corners. These faults have been remedied during linen backing but evidence of the tape stains and retouching can still be seen if the poster is inspected closely.
