ADAN Y EVA, (Adam and Eve) 1956. Original Linen Backed Argentinean 1 Sheet (29 x 43” / 74 x 110 cm) Movie Poster starring Carlos Baena and Christiane Martel and directed by Alberto Gout. This Mexican film is a dramatic retelling of the Biblical story of creation. It follows Adam and Eve as they are placed in Paradise by God, only to face consequences after committing the infamous original sin. Interestingly, the movie features Christiane Martel, a former Miss France, as Eve, and Carlos Baena as Adam. The film gained some notoriety due to its portrayal of near nudity, which was considered acceptable at the time because of its religious context. It was even banned in Mexico for several decades after its release.
Though this is a Mexican film, this poster was published for use in Argentinean theaters.
This poster was originally folded but is now in excellent linen backed edition.
