AND THEY THOUGHHT WE COULDN’T FIGHT, 1918. Original WW1 Victory Liberty Loan (20” x 30” / 66 x 98 cm) poster formerly rolled and now linen backed. This poster was created as propaganda to promote the Victory Liberty Loan, a post-war bond drive to help pay for the nation’s debt from the war. The soldier is depicted as holding three German helmets and a rifle, inspiring patriotism and encouraging civilians to buy the war bonds. “And they thought we couldn’t fight”.

This poster was originally rolled with a small chip along the bottom left edge and a bigger piece of the graphic torn off of the top of the poster. The poster is now linen backed and therestoired leaving it in nice condition for framing!
