Original Linen Backed WW1 era poster (20.75” x 29” / 69 x 95 cm) printed for the U.S. Food Administration to promote awareness and conservation among the general public of conserving wheat, meat, sugar and fats for the war effort. A colorful poster depicting what the Administration recommended to eat such as fish, fresh fruit and vegetables. “To save for the army and our allies”.
Like so many posters of this era this one exhibits some fraying and small tears along the margins and has received some color retouching mainly near the edge of the design. A popular poster often purchased for kitchen and dining room decor.
