MIRADAS QUE MATAN, 1954. Original Linen Backed Mexican (27 x 37” / 69 x 94 cm) Movie Poster starring Ana Bertha Lepe and Adalberto Martinez (better known as Resortes) who was a renowned Mexican actor and directed by Fernando Cortés. This Mexican Comedy, “Looks That Kill”, is about a woman named Patricia, whose stunning beauty has the power to kill anyone who looks at her. As she navigates the dangers of her deadly allure, Patricia becomes entangled in a series of tragic events. The film explores themes of guilt, obsession, and the consequences of possessing such a powerful and dangerous gift.
Artist: Ernesto Garcia Cabral (1890-1968)
This artwork was done by famous Mexican Art Deco artist and cartoonist Ernesto Garcia Cabral. Because of his immense talent, he started teaching drawing classes at the age of 12. He later became a caricaturist and had his work displayed on magazine covers and movie posters such as this one.
Mexican posters were printed on low quality, thin paper and are very fragile. We strongly recommend our linen backing service to stabilize these fine posters and prepare them correctly for framing. Left alone they will deteriorate and tear easily.
This poster was originally folded with some staining along the top left of the margin but is now in very good linen backed condition.
