SHOPTALK MAY BE SABOTALK, 1943. Original Linen Backed (18” x 25” / 46 x 63 cm) Canadian WW2 propaganda poster issued by the Wartime Information Board in Ottawa to warn workers against discussing work details, as such conversations could lead to sabotage. The Canadians adapted this poster from an original campaign design done by a prominent British anti-gossip and security campaign managed by the UK’s Ministry of Information, hence the text “DESIGN, COURTESY WALLS HAVE EARS ORGANIZATION” printed along the bottom margin of the poster.
Artist: Cedric Morris
Prior to linen backing, this poster had some pinholes and small tears along the margin, but is now in great linen backed condition.
