WWI Propaganda (c.1918) War Savings Stamp Poster (28 x 42” / 92 x 138 cm).
Printed by the United States Government, this beautiful poster illustrated by famed artist Haskell Coffin featuring winged Victory was issued to promote the purchase of war savings stamps in hopes of public support during the war. Although Liberty Bonds were purchased by financial institutions during this period, war saving stamps were marketed to common citizens. “SHare in the Victory save for your country, save for yourself”.
Prior to linen backing, this gorgeous stone litho poster showed only minor edge or border wear.
