COLUMBIA CALLS, Original Vintage American Linen-Backed WWI Propaganda War Poster

Columbia Calls, 1916 is an American WW1 propaganda poster (30 x 40” / 98 x 131 cm) designed by Frances Adams Halsted, with artwork by Vincent Aderente, in 1916. “Columbia Calls ” was a patriotic poster urging Americans to enlist for the army shortly before the United States joined the First World War. At the time, patriotism and nationalism were vital and at an all time high. This poster, measuring 30″ x 40″ and linen-backed in house, depicts Columbia with a flag and sword urging men to enlist for the U.S. Army. “Columbia Calls” “Enlist Now for the U.S. Army”.

The poster has been well restored by the linen-backing process. Poster has bold colors, some aging and wear across lower part of the border, but is in very good C8 condition and ready to hang up!
