EL VAGABUNDO, 1953. Original folded Mexican (27 x 37” / 69 x 94 cm) Movie Poster starring German Valdesas Tin-Tan and Aurora Segura and directed by Rogelio A. González. This Mexican Comedy Drama, “The Vagabond”, follows a hobo whose generosity and noble spirit remain unaffected by his extreme poverty, yet his actions often lead him into trouble, eventually landing him in the zoo park of a circus.
Artist: Ernesto Garcia Cabral (1890-1968)
This artwork was done by famous Mexican Art Deco artist and cartoonist Ernesto Garcia Cabral. Because of his immense talent, he started teaching drawing classes at the age of 12. He later became a caricaturist and had his work displayed on magazine covers and movie posters such as this one. (Note this poster was photographed in a frame hence the glare, a new photo will be uploaded soon)
Mexican posters were printed on low quality, thin paper and are very fragile. We strongly recommend our linen backing service to stabilize these fine posters and prepare them correctly for framing. Left alone they will deteriorate and tear easily.
This poster is in good, folded condition with some separation along the fold lines, as well as some scuffing along the margin.
