Directed by John Huston and produced by Arthur Hornblow Jr.. “The City Under the City” Based on W. R. Burnett’s 1949 novel of the same name, “The Asphalt Jungle” is a classic film noir about a jewel heist foiled by bad luck, and betrayal. Marilyn Monroe’s role may have been small, but immortalized her as Hollywood’s newest vixen. Nominated for four Academy Awards, three Golden Globes, and numerous other awards, the Library of Congress selected it for preservation in the National Film Registry.
This folded poster is in very good original C8 condition. There are pin holes in each corner, as well as the center of the top and bottom edge. The paper at the bottom edge of the poster is ruffled, and there is a small tear along the bottom of the vertical fold line. There is also a tear along the top of the vertical fold line, at the right hand side of the top horizontal fold line, and some slight paper separation where the top horizontal fold line meets the vertical fold line.
